Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how SidLabs Online LLP (“we”, “us”) handles personal information through this website (the “Site”), which is operated for its research-wing initiative, SL Innovation Centre, Dharamshala (“SLIC”). We honour your right to privacy and follow Indian data-protection law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”) and the Information Technology Rules, 2011.
1. Who we are
SidLabs Online LLP is a Limited Liability Partnership registered in India, with its registered office in New Delhi. SL Innovation Centre, Dharamshala is its research-wing initiative. References to “we” or “us” in this policy mean SidLabs Online LLP acting in that capacity.
2. What information we collect
This Site is intentionally minimal. We collect the following:
- Information you choose to share with us — when you write to us via bm@sidlabs.net, call our number, or message us on WhatsApp, we receive whatever you choose to tell us (name, contact details, the content of your message).
- Server logs — like most websites, our hosting provider may log basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested. This is retained for security and operational diagnostics only.
- No tracking — we do not use analytics cookies, advertising pixels, session replay tools, or fingerprinting scripts. See our Cookies Policy for details.
3. How we use information
We use the information you share with us only to:
- Respond to your inquiry, partnership proposal, or application.
- Provide information about SLIC and its activities if you have asked for it.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We do not use it for unsolicited marketing or advertising.
4. Lawful basis (DPDP Act 2023)
Under the DPDP Act, we rely on your consent (when you write to us) or on the legitimate use basis (when responding to your request) to process your personal data. You may withdraw consent at any time by writing to us.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We do not place tracking cookies. Our Site uses Google Fonts as a typography provider — Google may log the IP address of the request to deliver font files, but no cookies are set by the Google Fonts CSS endpoint. See our Cookies Policy for full details.
6. Sharing of information
We do not share personal information with third parties, except where required:
- To comply with a lawful request from an Indian governmental authority.
- To enforce our rights or protect the safety of any person.
- With our hosting provider, which processes server logs on our behalf and is bound by its own privacy commitments.
7. Data retention
We retain communications only for as long as needed to respond to you and for a reasonable period thereafter to maintain continuity (typically not more than 24 months). Server logs are retained per our hosting provider’s standard window (typically 30–90 days).
8. Data security
We follow reasonable security practices and procedures as contemplated under the Information Technology Rules, 2011. This includes restricted access to communications, transmission over HTTPS, and least-privilege handling. No method of transmission over the internet is fully secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act 2023, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erase data we no longer need to retain.
- Withdraw consent at any time.
- Nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your incapacity or death.
- Grievance redressal through our Grievance Officer (below).
To exercise any right, write to bm@sidlabs.net with the subject “Privacy Request”. We will respond within 30 days.
10. Children’s data
The Site is not directed at children under 18. Under the DPDP Act, processing of children’s data requires verifiable parental consent. We do not knowingly collect data from children; if you believe we have, please write to us and we will delete it.
11. International transfers
Our hosting provider and Google Fonts may operate servers outside India. Where this occurs, we rely on standard contractual protections offered by those providers.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be communicated through the Site.
